I often feel like my parenting is what I would imagine yo-yo- dieting would be like. Because we have a few different levels of comprehension going on with the wee ones, I have to frequently adapt the same technique with every single child.
There comes a time though where I fall off the bandwagon of good parenting and dive into less effective methods of parenting for brief periods of time, only to start the less bumpy ride up again. It is comforting to know though that with each falling off I gain more insights in how to do better the next time around. Parenting is like a ride on a wagon. Sometimes the trail is smooth and sometimes you do all you can to stay on. If you have fallen off and are not able to get back on that wagon on your own, then you need to hail to the driver of the wagon for some help to get back on.
I was talking with a friend the other day about, how I feel as though I am not so much of a kneel down and pray person at this time in my life, only because if I were I would always be on my knees. Point- I am constantly praying!
I am thankful for the constant guidance I receive through my answered and not answered prayers. Prayer is the balm for the wounds inflicted through this journey we call parenting.

I'm totally with you on this one, Sista!
Love this.
I think yo-yo-ing is, frankly, a way of LIFE. As is prayer. You sound perfectly sane to me, dear ...
I love the way you wrote that. It was nice to talk to you the other day. I miss chatting with you.
Well Pam, regarding your question about "where is my garage". I don't have one. YIKES. A garage would be awesome about now.
I know parenting is hard ---------it kinda stays hard (sorry to say) even when your children get older, and even when they are gone and married -------it still stays hard.
BUT the joys outweigh the hard. Hang in there.
I am on that yo-yo journey with ya! I like to call it "loosing my parenting mo-jo" when I fall into bad habits and loss of patience. There is always another day, unique from the days before it....we just have to keep our head up and keep trying!
